First, “Sissi” (1955) concerns the young arrival at court at the side of her sister, who is to be engaged to Emperor Franz Joseph (Karlheinz Böhm). The ruler, however, falls in love with Sissi instead! Uta Franz, Gustav Knuth co-star. “Sissi: The Young Empress” (1956) finds the new empress (Schneider) clashing with her mother-in-law (Vilma Degischer). Böhm, Knuth co-star.

  Finally, “Sissi: The Fateful Years of an Empress” (1957) chronicles the Hungarian voyage taken by the beauteous Sissi (Schneider) and her battle against a crippling illness.
