This is a full documentation of the band in their first year featuring performances from their first album, plus jams and classic covers. An audio remix by Roine Stolt in 2005, makes this definitive version.

  Overtly influenced by bands like Yes and Genesis, Transatlantic is a prog-rock supergroup formed in the summer of 1999 as a side project for Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy, Spock's Beard vocalist Neal Morse, Flower Kings guitarist Roine Stolt, and Marillion bass player Pete Trewavas. This release presents a double feature of Transatlantic programs: BUILDING THE BRIDGE documents the making of the band's 2001 album, BRIDGE ACROSS FOREVER; while LIVE IN AMERICA captures them in concert with a June 2000 performance in Philadelphia.
