  • Informações de Contra-Capa:
The 76th AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic was a supreme matchup between two top ten teams going head to head, with No. 8 K-State taking on No. 6 Arkansas. In all of the pre-game hype, this matchup looked to have plenty of scoring, since the two contenders both averaged more than 37 points per game during the 2011 season.
At the onset, it was all Arkansas, taking an early 13-0 lead with 10 minutes to go in the second quarter. Some big plays led to 10 points for the Razorbacks. The first three resulted from a Jake Bequette forced fumble on K-State quarterback Collin Klein which was recovered on the Wildcats' 13 yard line. The next seven points resulted from a punt return in the hands of Joe Adams, who took a K-State punt 51 yards to the end zone with 14:27 left in the second quarter. That led to the Wildcats scoring their first touchdown when Klein threw three yards to tight end Andre McDonald. Every score in the first half came off the heels of huge plays, and the second half of football began where the first half ended: with more scoring. What looked to be a blowout by Arkansas quickly turned tides with Kansas State scoring 16 unanswered points, making the score 19-16.
Wilson put Arkansas back on the board however, moving the Razorbacks on a 58-yard drive and connecting with his receiver, Cobi Hamilton, for nine yards and the score. The final points would come from sophomore kicker Zach Hocker, who from 30 yards away split the uprights, leading to the final score of 29-16 Arkansas.
The 76th AT&T Cotton Bowl lived up to its billing as one of the most highly anticipated bowls of the season, with all the flair and highlights that could be asked for by the viewing public.
